OUR PLANS WITH YOUR HELP

For our younger generations, who often get left out and their families have no idea what to do or where to go

We are non-profit health care group of people. Everyone donates their time. Since all expenses are self-funded, we really need your help, no matter how small or lagre. We provede charitable tax receipts, if needed.

  • Education for parents and teachers
  • Educate those that support those with an anxiety disorder
  • Create another special support group for the younger generations
  • Visit community centers
  • Training for therapists and physicians through our medical connections at the University of Toronto, Toronto hospitals and the Canadian Medical Association
  • Presentations at junior and high schools to bring awareness and where to get help
  • Visits to hospitals where people are patients with these disorders to help them understand and help their hospital caregivers
  • Show ways of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Exposure Therapy to help these people learn a way to at least cope with their disorder and to see that they are not alone
  • Get on radio/tv to expose these disorders and the lack of help especially for the younger generations who at times feel alone

Volunteer Opportunities at OCD Canada

We are always looking for volunteers to help us in the following areas. If you are interested in or have any questions about any of these volunteer opportunities, please email info@ocdcanada.org.

Speaking Opportunities at Schools:

  • Find and contact schools (high schools, colleges and universities)
  • Request information about speaking opportunities

Website:

  • Help put together content for our website
  • Articles, Blog Posts, Resources, Stories, Information

Social Media:

  • To build up our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Add a post every week to two about OCD, OCD Canada, OCD information

Newsletter:

  • Write articles and/or information for a monthly newsletter to send by e-mail to those on OCD Canada’s mailing list

Radio, TV, Podcasts:

  • Look for opportunities for a weekly half hour radio or TV show about OCD
  • Guest appearances on talk shows
  • Look into how we could do a podcast and make it happen

Advocacy Committee:

  • Write letters, contact and meet with politicians, pharmaceutical companies and many more to discuss mental health Aand how they can help

Education and Outreach Committee:

Help us provide community members and doctors with information about OCD and where people can go to find help.

This can include:

  • Speaking opportunities at schools
  • Speaking opportunities at conferences
  • Helping put together content for our website
  • Building up our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Writing articles for a monthly newsletter
  • Researching opportunities for guest appearances and/or a weekly show on radio, television, or on a podcast

Fundraising Committee:

Help us raise funds so we can help more people with OCD. We are looking for volunteers who can help us:

  • Research and apply for grants from foundations
  • Approach corporations for sponsorships
  • Research and apply for government funding
  • Connect with people for individual donations
  • Research other fundraising solutions
  • Find and keep in touch with Philanthropists, foundations, and the like
